2007-08: Played his first full season in the QMJHL with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. In 69 contests, he logged 7 points (1 goal, 6 assists) in 69 games. The first-year defenseman maintained a level of consistency and simplistic approach, which earned him the team’s most improved player award.
Talent Analysis
A steadfast defender, Brodeur plays a smart, mature game beyond his years. A towering presence on the blue line, he sometimes does not use his size to his advantage, but that does not reduce his ability to play an effective, shutdown game. A strong skater, Brodeur has some untapped puckmoving abilities that will only become more apparent as he develops.
Future
Brodeur is another defenseman the Coyotes letting develop and not needing to rush. He just played his first full season in junior last year and he’ll need more time.
