History

2005-06: The Ottawa 67's made Couture the 12th pick of the CHL Draft with high expectations, and he did not disappoint.  Playing in 65 games, Couture led all Ottawa rookies in goals (25), assists (39), and points (64).  His 64 points were third best overall on the team, and third most for any OHL rookie.  He continued his strong play during the 67’s short six game playoff run, leading the 67’s in points with seven (three goals, four assists).  His seven points were also fifth most for any OHL rookie, an accomplishment made more remarkable due to the fact that he only played in six games.

2006-07: Logan was selected to play in the 2006 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge for Team OHL.  Couture only played in one game, recording an assist.  He has also been named as one of the 40 players selected to play in the 2007 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.  Couture is following up his remarkable rookie campaign with a better than a point per game average in his second full season, in 54 games Couture scored 26 goals en route to 78 points.

2007-08: This was Couture’s third season with the Ottawa 67’s (OHL). In 51 games, he racked up 21 goals and 37 assists for a total of 58 points.

Talent Analysis

Displays solid, two-way commitment to the game that originally set scouts' hearts afire. Compared favorably to two-way stalwarts like Steve Yzerman.

Future

Couture is finishing up his OHL career with the Ottawa 67's, and should get a start on his pro career in 2009-10.
