History

2007-08: In his second season with the Victoriaville Tigres (QMJHL), Poulin posted a .887 save percentage and a 3.69 goals against average over 52 games. He participated in the 2008 CHL Top Prospects game.

Talent Analysis

An athletic and reactionary net minder, Poulin has shown streaks of world beating ability and also periods when it appears he can’t stop a beach ball. Extremely quick between the pipes, he’ll do anything to stop the puck, often making acrobatic saves. However, it is the fundamentals where he struggles, as he finds himself forced into those exciting moves due to poor positioning and an inability to control rebounds. When he is on his game, he can stonewall the opposition, but when he isn’t, close your eyes.

Future

He will need time and coaching to develop his style.
