History
2006-07: Sceviour had 38 points on 12 goals in his third season with the Portland Winter Hawks in 49 games. His 38 points is more than four times his point total from last year, having played nine more games.
2007-08: Sceviour got 17 games into the season for Portland (WHL) before getting dealt to Lethbridge (WHL) where he was able to excel, setting career highs in goals and points in his 52-game stint with the Hurricanes alone. His 31 goals were just three short of the team leaders but Sceviour played in 20 fewer games. He then picked up the playmaking during the playoffs, registering 10 assists and 13 points in 19 games as he helped Lethbridge to an Eastern Conference Championship.
Talent Analysis
Sceviour has good offensive instincts and a very good shot. He has shown himself to be more of a goal scorer than a playmaker. He uses his size and grit along the boards to generate scoring chances. He’s a sound two-way player that shows good determination at both ends of the ice. Finishes his checks well and effectively. Understands the team concept of the game. It remains to be seen if he has the natural talent to be a regular offensive contributor at the NHL level; just in case, developing an even stronger physical and defensive game would be to his advantage.
Future
Potential: 2nd/3rd line two-way goal-scoring forward, like a smaller Johan Franzen.
