History
2005-06: Hickey led his Cretin-Derham Hall high school team in scoring as a junior with 62 points on 37 goals and 25 assists in 31 games. His team won the school's first state championships with Hickey leading the way with six goals in three state tournament games. He was named to the All-Tournament Team. Drafted by the Wild in the seventh round, 192nd overall.
2006-07: As a senior and team captain, a knee injury limited his action to just 17 games. However he still racked up 36 points with 21 goals and 15 assists, again making a state tournament appearance.
2007-08: Hickey struggled a bit adjusting his offensive game to the USHL level, and he was playing for a Tri-City Storm team having a pretty rough year. He managed 15 goals and 16 assists in 55 games for the Storm, which was fourth on his team in goals and points.
Talent Analysis
He has the size and strength to bang and an excellent work ethic. His speed is good, though his agility could be better. He has a sound defensive game and a nice, hard shot, but his hands and vision are not his strengths. A goal-scorer in high school, he will most likely be a checker or possibly a garbage goal specialist.
Future
Transferring to Dartmouth College, must sit out in the NCAA.
